Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you were afraid to ask a developer. Answered.

1. How much does an app cost?

The base price is $2,500-$3,500, depending on the number of screens, outside features, and the time it'll take to create. Most apps take about 4-6 weeks. More complex apps that take 4-6 months have a base price of $10,000+.

2. How do you accept payment?

I accept Business Venmo and invoice payments. All transactions are documented for both parties.

3. How long does an app take to build?

For simple apps, typically 1-15 screens without many outside features like payment integration, the timeline is usually 4-6 weeks. This includes coding and beta testing.

However, the timeline also depends on the client. The more we meet and the more new features requested during development, the longer the project may take to complete.

4. What happens if something breaks?

I'll fix it. As I'm coding, I perform quick tests, and the beta testing process helps catch bugs I may have missed.

I also offer a subscription plan for updates and minor changes at $100/month. However, if something breaks and you aren't part of the subscription plan, I'll still fix it.

5. Do I own the app once it's done?

Yes! I still have access to the app for bug fixes, but the app is ultimately yours.

My name will be attached to the app in the app stores by default. However, if you want your name listed in the app stores instead, I have no problem making that transfer.

6. Can you build for my specific gym or business?

Yes! I've built apps for an MMA gym, BJJ study and training, a dessert business, a fitness studio, and more.

Every app is built specifically for that business - no templates, no restrictions.

7. Do you sign an NDA?

Yes. Before any project discussions begin, both parties sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement protecting your idea and my work. Your concept stays confidential from day one.

8. Is it worth the investment?

Absolutely. Unlike template apps or AI-generated tools, your custom app is built around YOUR specific business, with no restrictions on layout or features.

You own it completely and can continue adding features as your business grows. Most app platforms are very restrictive - with Apps by Ashlee, you can build exactly what you want.

9. What's the difference between a custom app and a template or AI-built app?

For one, I'm a real person, so you don't have to argue with a computer. Template and AI-built apps are restrictive and one-size-fits-all. With a custom app, you get exactly what your business needs.

And unlike most app platforms, you actually OWN your app when the project is done. They don't.

I also bring 10+ years of analytics experience and a Master's in Mathematics to every project, so I'm not just building an app, I'm building a smart one.
